Crypto’s DeFi Education Fund Appoints New Directors Following Departure of Miller Whitehouse-Levine

Miller Whitehouse-Levine, a prominent advocate for decentralized finance (DeFi) in the United States, is stepping down from his role as executive director of the DeFi Education Fund. He will be succeeded by Amanda Tuminelli, the group’s chief legal officer.

Despite his departure from the executive director position, Whitehouse-Levine will continue to serve on the organization’s board. According to a recent announcement, he is expected to take on a new role within the industry lobbying sector.

In a statement released on Thursday, Whitehouse-Levine expressed his confidence in Tuminelli’s leadership abilities and praised her passion and brilliance. The DeFi Education Fund, established in 2021, is poised to reach new heights under her guidance.

Recent developments in Congress indicate positive momentum for the DeFi sector, as lawmakers move towards overturning a burdensome IRS rule proposed by the Biden administration. This rule would have placed significant compliance burdens on DeFi projects.

Tuminelli emphasized the importance of the DeFi Education Fund’s mission in light of these changes, stating, “There is now a bipartisan effort among U.S. policymakers and regulators to develop sensible crypto legislation and regulatory frameworks that support technological innovation. Our work at DeFi Education Fund has never been more crucial.”
