CryptoAUSTRALIA is proudly participating in the Privacy Awareness Week 2018 by hosting an event on the 18 May in Sydney.
Join us for a thought-provoking night at our screening of NOTHING TO HIDE (2017), a documentary about surveillance and you.
From Queensland? Check out our Privacy Awareness Week event in Brisbane
This independent documentary film is dealing with mass surveillance and its acceptance in the public through the "I have nothing to hide" narrative
"Saying that you don't care about privacy because you have nothing to hide, is like saying that you don't care about freedom of speech because you have nothing to say" – Edward Snowden
NOTHING TO HIDE is a documentary researched and directed by a pair of Berlin-based journalists, Mihaela Gladovic and Marc Meillassoux. They have assembled a multi-national team to question the growing, puzzling and passive public acceptance of massive corporate and governmental incursions into individual and group privacy and rights.
All too often the mainstream mantra has become "Surveillance? I have NOTHING TO HIDE!". What does it say about us and our societies when we embrace the NOTHING TO HIDE justification?
